Load Balancing: We have implemented a number of load balancers across our network, so as to not re-direct all traffic to one busy server. This means that all requests are dynamically distributed across our servers to ensure your Hosting service is served faster.
Database Servers: We are focused on providing a premium service, with high-volume traffic websites that outperform our competition. As a website is only as fast as its slowest component we have invested in high end IBM database servers utilising SSDs and highly tuned MySQL software.
Anycast DNS: We have deployed DNS nodes around the world. When you host your website with us, we announce their IP address across our DNS network so when visitors from around the globe visit a website on our network, the DNS query will be completed from the physically closest DNS node resulting in a faster response.
Back-Up & Redundancy: Backups are important which is why we utilise several layers of backup. Our NAS performs nightly snapshots which are used to provide fast access to data and this data is then replicated to our DR site in Alexandria. Weekly backups are performed on site to a separate device to provide a final layer of redundancy.
Network Storage: With Network Attached Storage (NAS) there will be no delays when retrieving data from a local disk. There is also the added benefit that if a web server goes down, there is a greater level of redundancy, as all files are served on our NAS.
Hybrid Architecture: As some services perform better on a physical machine whilst others prefer a virtual environment, we deploy a hybrid architecture dependent on the service.
Web Clusters: Unique to our hosting is the segmentation of all services within our network, where most services are being served on their own cluster. That is, HTML/CSS and images are served via its own server cluster, PHP is served through another cluster, incoming mail, outgoing mail, webmail, and so on are all on their own cluster. What does this mean? If a server fails or is over loaded, the server is automatically removed from the pool minimising any effect on customers as websites are dynamically distributed to other servers.
Data Centres: Our primary data centre is the Equinix Sy3 Data Centre, located in Sydney, Australia. With over 260,000 sq ft of property the Equinix Sy3 Data Centre is one of the largest data centres in the Southern Hemisphere. It offers high quality, scalable solution with access to multiple carriers. The data centre's resilience is underpinned by a minimum N+1 standard for power and cooling systems, delivering an optimal operating environment to clients 24x7. The secondary data centre is in a separate offsite location in Alexandria, a Sydney suburb.
We have our own onsite space in the Equinix SY3 Sydney data center and own all of our own equipment. This ensures that we are able to proactively manage and protect our infrastructure instead of relying on a third party provider.
We have onsite technical engineers 24 hours a day, every day of the year. If a problem occurs, you can rest assured that we have a team of experts available to respond immediately. We aim to respond within 5 to 15 minutes for all server faults.
